Penny's Waikiki Malasadas, the Honolulu shop that fries malasadas (Hawaii's puffy, sugar-rolled doughnuts) to order, is opening its first Las Vegas bakery at 8525 Blue Diamond Road in the southwest. Penny's started as a food truck in Laie in 2018 and now runs a counter in Waikiki's Royal Hawaiian Center, and its latest Instagram post, as reported by the Review-Journal, says the team is putting the finishing touches on the Vegas space. Expect malasadas rolled in white or cinnamon sugar or filled with custard, house jam, coconut, ube or Nutella, starting at 3 for $9.75 on the posted Las Vegas menu. There's also a Vegas-only lineup that includes a Coconut Bomb and a maple bacon malasada ($5.25 each) plus an ice cream malasada sandwich ($8.75). There's no opening date yet, so keep an eye on @pennyswaikikimalasadas on Instagram for the go.

Coming Soon: The Delmont, an Italian American bistro, in the old Tuscany Grill space

The Delmont, an Italian American bistro with a bar and gaming, is taking over the Eastern Avenue space where Tuscany Grill served for more than 27 years before it closed in July, and the City of Henderson has approved the license transfer. Its posted menu leans East Coast, with brick oven pizzas (the house pie has pepperoni, ricotta and hot honey), a Philly cheesesteak, chicken francaise and linguine with clams. There's no opening date yet, and the website just says they're firing up the oven.
