Gina Paul, who opened the cherry-blossom-draped Liam’s Den & Bubble Bar in the Grand Canal Shoppes in 2025, is bringing a neighborhood sports room to 5781 W Sahara Ave, just east of Jones, with an opening scheduled for Oct 24. JP’s is named for her husband and is meant to land between fine dining and a pub, with leather couches and club chairs, wood paneling, low light and seven TVs across about 75 seats, 25 of them in the bar and lounge. Chef Josh Green (Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck alum) and chef de cuisine Christy Xayphrarath (Nobu, Majordōmo) are cooking sourdough pull-apart bread, pelmeni, a house sausage board, lamb chops and steak frites, and Donutique founder Keris Kuwana runs pastry, including a domed cake on a golden stand. The beer list puts Chimay and Duvel next to local Neon Desert and Beer Zombies, and the cocktails include the Red Zone, a Cognac and rye old-fashioned with Black Forest cherry. The plan is daily 11 a.m.–11 p.m. with a limited golden hour menu 2–6 p.m., watch parties for big playoff games, and reservations through Toast.

Happy Hour: $2 oysters at The Legends Oyster Bar on Durango

Chef-owner Jack Jarukasem’s 40-seat oyster bar near Desert Breeze Park drops oysters from $3 to $2 apiece Mon–Thu, 1–4 p.m., and the happy hour menu also discounts the pan roast, jambalaya and pasta. The pan roast is the one to get, with crab, shrimp and lobster in tomato cream over rice, the casino oyster-bar classic he learned at the Rio, made here on a regular gas stove.
